A few weeks ago we posted an article showing Newegg.com taking a pre-order listing for the upcoming AMD R9 290x, with a price that none of us was expecting; $729.99. Today Amazon has done the same thing and just like Newegg, the price comes in above the $700 mark.
There is still time before AMD releases the AMD R9 290x, so we could see a drop in the final MSRP. For now though all signs are pointing at the graphics card launching at $700. If that is the case, Nvidia would respond with price drops of their own bringing down the Titan MSRP to match the R9 290x, but don’t expect an all-out pricing war because both companies want to make as much money as possible.
